The publisher released a "beta" version of the core rules as part of a public play test effort. Test for new role playing game modules that are in their final development process and I was just lucky enough to get in on the playtest for Fantasy Flight Games new upcoming product Star Wars Edge of the Empire Roleplaying Game. It includes a set of the funny dice needed to play, a map, a sheet of cardstock character and starship tokens, four pre-generated characters, a pre-generated adventure, and a rulebook that covers all the basic systems as well as how to advance those four pregens. With the game as I pick up the starter box and play through the included adventures (including the free downloadable one from their website) and eagerly anticipate the release of the core rulebook once beta testing is complete. I think it was the You see, Edge of the Empire is the first of three core books they will release.
